More photos from Greg's 40th
Thanks to Greg's mum, we now have better photos than my drunken attempts!
Creative carving of the meat - after the main carving on the spit. Very tender, tasty meat....

The surprise presentation of the birthday cake to the birthday boy.
Do you like your cake?!
Old friends, new friends, in front of photographic evidence of 4 decades of Greg's life!
Oh, what a night!
It's been a while between postings, but obviously nothing very exciting happened in our lives between then and now - until last Saurday night, otherwise known as Greg's 40th birthday.
We had a very country party - in the shed out on the farm. Greg built a bonfire, we ressurected the old pool table and old dart boards, hired a spit and friends and family travelled across the country to help Greg celebrate this milestone. It was a great event. The weather held off (only the odd light shower, which was very lucky given the flooding rains of earlier in the week), the food was fantastic, all guests mingled well, there was plenty of budding pool and dart champions, and a lot of chatter around the bonfire.
More photos will be uploaded soon. Apparently, I got very drunk after this so I forgot to take photos! But, I have seen some great shots on other people's cameras so once I've collated them, I'll upload.
Meanwhile, the bonfire: Here's the birthday boy lighting the bonfire, at about 4pm. Notice the great construction, the great fuel source courtesy of the Melbourne-Sydney railway line - you'd think it would burn for 3 weeks!
Then, the next morning (as family and friends gather for a hearty egg and bacon muffin breakfast cooked on the BBQ and washed down with copious orange juice and coffee!). Amazing, how quickly a bonfire will burn (even after it had been raining for the week leading up!).
More soon, but suffice to say for the moment, that Greg had a great 40th birthday party!
