6 1/2 weeks to go!!

Time ticks by, quite quickly it seems, which means the wedding is getting closer! However, we did take time out from wedding preparations in the past week to celebrate my birthday! Celebrations may not have been as large as they have been in the past but I did very well for myself. I baked a cake for morning tea at work, which seemed to disappear quiet quickly. At lunchtime, it was the annual BBQ at Hawkstowe Park. It was a lovely sunny afternoon, so about 23 of us headed out into the sunshine for a sumptuous lunch - thanks to all who provided something. See photo below, with chefs slaving over the BBQ in the distance. Later that night, Dad also cooked a very fine meal, complete with a taste of the sparkling wine we have ordered for the wedding. A fine way to celebrate the life of Tracey!

So this week has been another exciting week for wedding plans. The honeymoon is paid for so Cocos Keeling Islands here we come! http://www.cocos-tourism.cc/ We're doing invitations this week to the aftermath BBQ, because although our wish is to keep the wedding ceremoney and reception intimate, we'd love to have as many people as possible at the BBQ the next day. Still got to sort out travel - cars and bus. But we have been able to tick a few things off the list in the last week, so that's a bonus. And I'm sure Dave played his role of Best Man to perfection last Friday night during the Bucks Night Planning Session!

8 weeks to go!

The countdown has well and truly started! With eight weeks to go, the lists of things to do are becoming well polished. Greg is working feverishly to finish a few things around the house so it all looks nice and neat. We had Marg over this weekend to go shopping for an outfit for the wedding - mission successfully accomplished down Bridge Road on Saturday. That earnt us all a day off yesterday so we took Marg to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat and had a nice day out.

In terms of wedding things, most things are as organised as they can be at this stage. Invitations are out (as above), and we're both enjoying opening the RSVPs as they come in. Rings have been made, flowers ordered, Mum is growing the table decorations (!), we're looking at music, dress fitting next week and we need to finalise our vows. This week's tasks include booking the bus, finalising the cake order and booking the car.

The election has been called so we're all free on December 8th! Even though we really need the rain, let's start praying that it doesn't rain on December 8th - any other day would be great. Hens weekend is planned and let's assume the Buck's weekend is too....don't know if anyone else will ever know what goes on over that weekend!
