Spending time together...

What a week it's been! From the relaxation of spending a weekend on the beach with Dave and Mairead and Conor, to the stress of a car accident to the sadness of our neighbour passing away. Throw into that mix university assignments, fire brigade elections, travelling parents and it's no wonder I'm not too good today!
So, last weekend we went back to where it all began for David and Mairead, to the same beach house where we all went for a weekend 3 years ago and where they got engaged. This time it was for our last weekend together and for Conor to see the beach for the first time. It was lovely, very relaxing and even the weather was good although we barely left the house where the wood fire roared continuously all weekend. However, as you can see, we did head down to the beach, for Conor to touch and see the sand and the water.

The family at the beach (obviously summer has well and truly passed us by...!)

Greg and Tracey playing in the waves!

Friends forever - across the seas

The peace and tranquility of the weekend was shattered on Monday evening when a driver ran a light and collided with the passenger side of my car. I'm not really hurt although I have been pretty sore and shaky all week. Thankfully, it was my work car so it's not as if I have to worry about the insurance or anything, but it won't be coming back to the City of Whittlesea - looks like it will be a write off. At least I get a new (hopefully red!) car out of this!

Yesterday Mum and Dad jetted off to China for several weeks. So we are on duty to look after the farm and the animals while they are away. Hopefully it will rain lots - it usually always does when Mum and Dad go away!

So, we're down to our last week with David and Mairead in Australia. We all know that we will preserve our friendship wherever we all end up (as many readers of this blog will testify!) but it doesn't make it any easier. Next Monday will be a very sad day as we wave off their plane.

In the meantime, I have university assignments to work on. So it's back to the books for now!
