A bit of luxury in a weekend

We spent Friday night in the lovely, historic Werribee Mansion as Greg's "reward night" made available to him on the anniversary of each year of service to the Accor Group. Seeing as the Mansion Hotel only became an Accor hotel last year (and is about to become a Sofitel next week), we thought we'd try it out. The heritage value certainly appealed to me!
The hotel is located in the wing of the mansion built by the Catholic Church at the turn of the 20th century. This wing was used to accommodate priests in training. This photo shows the former chapel (now the reception, library, bar and restauarnt of the hotel), and the rooms head away from where the photo was taken. Great spot, lovely food in the restaurant, huge pool table in the hotel's snooker room - all makes for a great night out! And the mansion itself is well worth checking out...and there's even a winery located on site too! What more do I need?!!

Happy Birthday to me!

Father time has paid me a visit and according to some, I'm now in my mid-thirties. I'm still of the opinion that 34 is early thirties so I'm sticking to that! Had a great day, with birthday cake for morning tea here in the office (even if I did have to bake it myself!), off to a local park for a BBQ lunch with a few colleagues, and that night, my Dad cooked up a seafood storm by way of a celebratory dinner! Received some great presents along the way, and this was just the day itself! However, as you can see from the photos, the weather was glorious, and I have very safety conscious staff who I roped in to cook the BBQ.

The Sunday after the actual day, a group of friends headed up to Mitchelton winery (not far from our place) for a beautiful lunch in their restaurant on the banks of the Goulburn River, overlooking the many acres of grape vines. It was another glorious day, so after we finished our scrumptious lunch, we purchased a couple more bottles of wine and sat on the banks of the river to drink them, before heading back to our place for cake and coffee.

Great celebrations all around, so thanks to all my friends, family, my brother for the special call from India, and special thanks to Greg.
