Broadford to Wycheproof - 1st August

Well, we're on the road again - finally! It wasn't a good morning, we had a few problems and it was raining. So everything took longer than expected and we still can't get the satphone working but in the end we left Broadford after lunch and made it to a free camp in Wycheproof. Even on the road we had a few more problems with wheels but Greg sorted that and we were fortified with mini cheeseburgers at Tooborac (yes, not far from home!) and Anzac bikkies at Serpentine. Lake Boort was looking very scenic full of water, although the surrounding flat areas that obviously become part of the lake when it is really wet were looking decidedly sparse. We're camped at Centenary Park in Wycheproof which has lovely gardens, toilets, free BBQs and undercover eating. Tuna mornay was on the menu for dinner as we're not carrying any vegetables (due to crossing the SA border tomorrow). We've cranked up the new diesel heater so we're very snug while drinking wine and relaxing. This is what it's supposed to be about!
