Maryborough - Friday 2nd June 2023
A beautiful relaxing day in the warm sunshine! Morning coffees were spent in the backyard while the sun glistened across the Mary River. How quickly one adjusts to warm weather again!
The highlight of our day was lunch at Portside Cafe. We first ate here on the banks of the river last July and really enjoyed their fish tacos. So much so that we knew we wanted to come back on this trip. Our plans to do so were nearly thwarted by road closures - there is a festival on tomorrow along the riverbank very much like Festivale for the Tasmanian readers of this blog and so they were setting up. I pleaded Tasmanian ignorance with my Tasmanian plated car and parked reasonably close. We were able to enjoy our fish tacos sitting at a table on the verandah washed down with some bubbles.
The afternoon was wiled away in the 26C weather. I did a few housekeeping tasks on the car and then we relaxed - just like holidays should be!
